Installed Version Verification

Post by NAVMAN »

Greetings: Noted that when I check the properties of the .exe file and then check the version, the version shown is 1.8.0.0. The main game screen shows the version is
1.8.0.6. Also noted that according to the release notes for v1.8.0.6, device 139 should
show a pen of "500". My screen shows a pen of "0", when checking the database editor
and loading the last scen. Have installed patches 1.8.0.4 and 1.8.0.6 twice with the same
results. How can I confirm which version is actually installed?
Thx.

The version on the loading screen should be the correct one.

rtrapasso,
Thx for the reply. By "loading screen", I take it to mean the main menu screen.
Any thoughts as to why the data base editor d/n show the data for device 139 as indicated
in the release notes for v1806?
Thx.

Yes - main menu screen (where you load the scenario, game options, etc.) - patch version is listed in the upper right corner.

The version windows gives in the version you originally loaded... patches don't show up there.

iirc, there was a LOT of confusion about certain devices in the upgrade... some of them were actually "hard coded" into the game, iirc, so it doesn't make any difference what the editor says, however, i don't recall which devices this happened for... there was also a lot of confusion over 2000 pound bombs for the Allies that never did get straighted out (as i recall).

rtrapasso,
Thx for the info. Re: the editor, I guess I'll conclude that it is as it should be.
