kudos on diplomatic system

From the front lines in France and Russia to the deserts of North Africa and the airfields and convoys of Britain, the campaigns of World War II are yours to command in WW2: Time of Wrath! This turn-based grand strategy title, the highly improved and expanded sequel to WW2: Road to Victory, puts the player in charge of the political, economic and military decisions of one or more Axis or Allied nations, including minor nations.

kudos on diplomatic system

Post by gwgardner »

since Germany attacked turkey in my current game, and then Turkey went over to the Allies, my poor Russians were standing by hopelessly just waiting for the German assault from the south. So I decided to declare war on Turkey, in order to take up positions within Turkey, in defense of the Caucasus.

The diplomatic system won't let me do that, saying that since Turkey is a member of a major alliance, I would have to declare ware on an alliance leader, eg the UK.

That is a kewl feature of the diplomatic system, in my opinion, causing major repursciouns (sp) if I wanted to go ahead and move into Turkey.

Haha, it was a nefarious plot between the Russkies and the Brits, to set up a forward defense for Russia. Since the Turks won't allow the Russians into their county, even to help, it was thought that it would be wise to take up a position in Turkey by force instead. However, since I am make a bit of an attempt at plausibility, I can't see Russia declaring war on the whole western alliance. (Although Russia hasn't seen a single PP of aid from the West yet!)

The younger Turks wanted an axis relationship, the older Turks thought UK/France would be better...so they met on the middle ground and did nothing.
