Consistent CTD

Post by TalonCG2 »

Argh! I'm getting a consistent CTD in the grand campaign scenario #7. Only thing I've done is edit it with the game editor to increase the build rate on mines and a couple of aircraft types. Saved it in slot #26. Campaign has run fine up until Dec 12/13. Now I get a CTD during the turn resolution with the map centered on Vigan (80,73).

What kind of info do I need to post to help resolve this? I'd really hate to have to start over again. [&:]

Well we cannot commit to supporting MODs at least until after we finish patch 02 ... too many issues to work on for the non-modded stuff until then.

So two options ...

01 - Show us screen shots of the stuff you changed.

02 - Produce issue with non-modded game and upload save of same.

Well I would think it wouldn't be considered a mod since all I changed was build rates of serveral items using the tools provided with the game. I basically doubled allied aircraft build rate and increased the mine build rate for both sides by a factor of 5. That's all. I haven't gone and changed any files in the game, or installed any user created mods (if any are even available yet).

I lowered the time delay for messages and ran the turn again. It seems to be crashing on the second cycle thru base messages right after "setting CAP objectives".

If you can't help, I guess I'll just start over...

Any change is considered a MOD - by definition.

You don't mention what version you are using.
Always a useful piece of information.

Try the 1084e patch as it addressed a CTD issue.

I'm sorry gents. I feel like a moron. I just saw the "v1.00.84 Crash to Desktop"thread... The hotfix patch (that I hadn't seen until it was waved in my face) should address the issue I was having. I was have the same crash as described in the thread. I'm confident that's what was happening to me as well.

Sorry for wasting time with this. I'll remember to search the forums if I have an issue next time. I was in a panic.
