Plotting waypoint issue

Post by apbarog »

In BTR, when plotting waypoints, when you plot the Outbound 3 waypoint, the system redraws your Outbound 1 and 2 waypoints and the Exit Point, so that there is a straight line from the target to the Outbound 3 waypoint. If you plot waypoints in order, as I do, this is an issue.

[edit]
If you plot all your waypoints, and then change Inbound 1, it does the same type of thing, drawing a straight line from Inbound 1 to the target, disregarding your Inbound 2 and 3 waypoints, and the Initial Point.

This may be working as designed, and can be worked around.

that is as designed, but is a bit "backward"

it is on the list to see if it can be changed

The reason I did it this way was to let you set the point closest to the Form-up base for both leaving and return. By changing  it to the closest to the Target you get less control...

Happy to reverse it if the consensus is such, but I like my way... Not that I play much :(

Your way makes more sense than mine. I got into the habit of working the Initial Point and the Exit Point first, and working backwards and forwards from there. Doing a form-up location first works for me. Thanks.

Harley ,

Re waypoints - in BOB trying to physically move the waypoints by using drag and drop with the right mouse button ( especially the red inward waypoints ) seems to be very "hit and miss" at present , The majority of the time the white outward line will move if the lines are close together even if the red inward waypoints are hovered over with the mouse and it is the red inward line that one is trying to change

BTR waypointing is much better and I have had no problem with the waypoints so far.

Not sure why you'd see a difference, they are the same code. Maybe it's just a scale thing, in that everything is farther apart on the map in BTR. It's always been finnicky, move the inbound out of the way, then set the outbound, or move out waypoint 3 with the button, then move the rest. Moving In WP1 will reset the formup field and outbound track, moving out wp3 will just re-align the outbound plot, allowing you to line it out of the way from the in waypoints.

wow. what a ramble. sorry about that.
