BOB misc questions

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

BOB misc questions

Post by Baron von Beer »

1: Fatigue: Does low altitude and or night flying have an additional or increased fatigue burden? I thought I remembered this from old BTR, but might be getting WiTP or something else mixed up. Didn't see it in the fatigue list in the manual though.

2: Radar: Does all radar get 360 degree coverage, as indicated by the range circles? I understand if this is an engine limitation that they must be, just want to know for my planning. Double-quadruple redundancy from parallel stations, etc.

2B: At what threshold is radar "down"? If I'm playing the RAF, is this going to be an On/off deal or will damage % make radar "fuzzy" so to speak, not consistently working but not dead, etc.

3: As the RAF, if a squadron is up and Jerry plows their base shutting it down, do they relocate to a satellite on their own, or do they grit their teeth and try to dodge the craters?

4-999 will come soon enough. [:)]

Thanks for any info.

from what I remember, yes

2: Radar: Does all radar get 360 degree coverage, as indicated by the range circles? I understand if this is an engine limitation that they must be, just want to know for my planning. Double-quadruple redundancy from parallel stations, etc.

360

50%, and basicly, it is a on/off deal

3: As the RAF, if a squadron is up and Jerry plows their base shutting it down, do they relocate to a satellite on their own, or do they grit their teeth and try to dodge the craters?

try to land with the craters, also take a morale loss from having the field bombed, and a decent chance getting the fuel supply burned out

4-999 will come soon enough. [:)]

Thanks for any info.

Thanks!

Pulled out my old BTR manual and been skimming it today. Found the bit on fatigue, for anyone interested:

Each minute of low level and low light flying:  Below 1,000 feet, a random number between 0 & 1,000 is generated, if it is greater than the pilots altitude, the pilot receives 2 fatigue points.

In low light conditions, random number 0-100 generated, if greater than the current light level, 1 point of fatigue.
