full speed movement - v1804

Post by vaned74 »

Is there a way to sprint to a location and wait at mission speed w/o the TF commander deciding to return to base?

I occasionally sight contacts with my submarines and set them to full speed to move to an estimated point of contact. However, even if remain on station is set they move to the point and retire back to base.

After a few attempts, I have determined it is because the engine is calculating the fuel requirements for the trip to the destination hex AND the trip home as if it was at full speed and it turns the hexes req/endurance on the TF red.

Thus, my subs move to the point and then head home - especially those in the east Pacific area looking for Allied convoys.

Is this working as designed? I would think that fuel requirements for the homeward trip should always be calculated at mission/cruise speed as opposed to the current speed setting of the task force thus allowing the sprint to location move.

Thanks for any insight.
