XML Export/Import Problems...

Post by parmenio »

Dumping an OOB from "Holland - A Bridge Too Far 1944" and immediately reloading it (unchanged) causes a crash.

Dumping a MML file from the same scenario, reloading it unchanged and then exporting it again shows differences in the two MML copies.

Example:

The first MML has two locations called "Gennep" :

<PLACE loc="52,44" name="Gennep"/>
<PLACE loc="25,84" name="Gennep"/>

Following the reload there are still two in the second MML file:

<PLACE loc="25,84" name="Gennep"/>
<PLACE loc="25,84" name="Gennep"/>

but they're both now at the same location:

Are there known issues with the import/export?

There are, I'm afraid, the map import assumed that placenames were unique, for one thing. The 3.4 patch should fix these issues (I'll check on the OOB import) it also adds the capability to import/export an entire scenario to XML

The MML I can live with - the OOB re-import, however, is not consistent. Some work and some don't. I suspect there's something in the XML it doesn't like. If I knew what, *it* could be fixed prior to re-import.
