Emergency forces

Post by vinnie71 »

The manual states that if the Japanese either landed on the US, Australia or penetrated into India, the allies would receive substantial reinforcements. Anybody knows what sort of reinforcements are we talking about? Are these troops that are already in the arrival list and will just arrive before or is there a different set of forces available to the allies? if it is the latter does anyone know the name of the forces in question?

As for the Japanese, this only happens if the allies invade Vietnam only, right?

Not needed, they will be destroyed by the invaders. [:D]
If you gained knowledge through the forum, why not putting it into the AE wiki?

Some have withdrawal dates some are accelerations of late war units some just stay when they arrive.

Most usefull units of the lot are the ones marked invasion mobilidsations as they flech out other units

e.g. one of the Australian Divs is the 9th Aus Div that arrives early (but at Aden).

You need to rewmember these forces need to be shipped to their destination.

One of the Indian Forces is the Waziristan Frontier Div so that is rear echelon troops.

The Australian forces are the same as the Indian ones in that they are triggered by invading beyond a certain point (in this case I believe it is south of Brisbane) so a limited invasion of northern Australia is still possible. In the case of NZ and the US I think ANY invasion triggers these forces.

If I recall correctly what I read in past posts, the Japanese can take Colombo, Bombay, Karachi and all ports in between without invoking the influx of additional troops. If the Japanese then advance on Delhi, invoking the surge, it appears to me that getting troops from Aden is difficult with Bettys in Karachi and Bombay. Can the troops be moved from Aden to UK and then Capetown?

By the time they got to Capetown there'd be nothing left to defend.

The interesting thing is that 8.3.5 states that it's entry into Indo-China by Chinese units... while 8.8 does not specify and just says Allied units.... so which is it? Any Allied unit or just Chinese units?

A couple of points

I think its Chinese and Allied
Japan also gets emrgancty reinforcements on an invasion of the HI
Allied reinforcements in India arrive if a line paralell to Delhi is crossed so an attack on karachi would trigger them

What are the actual hex numbers that invoke the additional deployments?
