This will not be a narrative AAR along the lines of Cuttlefish's outstanding tale of Hibiki, this is just an intro to an AAR I've been thinking about for some time, and that demanded to be used [;)]
Feel free to comment, laugh at my mistakes, as there are bound to be alot!

Apart from that, Walloc and myself have agreed on using the EA sports games slogan:
"If it's in the game, it's in the game"
Which translates into this - if it is allowed by the game, it is acceptable to both players.

Off Hawaii, December 7th 1941, 0530 in the morning
"The eternal nagging. From everyone!" Major Tom thought as he was piloting his Catalina search plane.
His wife would always nag him about taking his pills, and this morning the CO had demanded that he wore his entire flightsuit, including his helmet.
"Put your leather helmet on Major Tom!" the CO had said. Tom hated that piece of equipment, it made his head feel like on fire.
All of a sudden the radio started talking, it was ground control.
Ground Control: Can you hear me Major Tom?
Major Tom: Loud and clear.
Ground Control: Is everything ok? And the CO wants to know if you are wearing your helmet?
Major Tom: YES!
The radio went silent again.
The sight at 14000 feet was quite something, and it made it clear to Major Tom that we are indeed living on a blue planet. Everything was blue, well it would be as soon as the sun was firmly set atleast.
"What is that?!" Major Tom wondered as his eyes reached a point in the horizon. He banked his aircraft and set a bearing towards the dark shades he could see further ahead.
He did as trained to do, and radioed his observations and course alterations to Ground Control. There was no reply however, maybe some static.
At Ground Control all they heard from Major Tom was: ".........rse.....ons....tt......ng....."
The radio operator immediately contacted his superior, but was told that it was probably just a dead circuit and nothing to worry about.
Back up at 14000 feet Major Tom was staring so hard his eyes started to water. There was no question about it, those were carriers, but what nation? He managed to think before his instumentpanel disintegrated before his eyes and the Catalina went into a spin...
20 minutes later a Japanese Carrier Fleet sails past some debris from the Catalina shot down by the fighter-CAP. Were they detected? They were soon to find out that they were not...
The result was not a pleasant one for the US Pacific Fleet:
