Scenario Editor

Post by kuhsw0 »

I Can't get the scenario editor to run. The game loads fine, all the other shortcuts seem to work ok. Running Vista if that makes a difference. I've run both of the updates, hoping that would fix it, no dice. I've been playing Harpoon since it came on floppy disc! Love the scenario editor best of all...Please help!

It may help to look at the little FAQ at:
tm.asp?m=1633589

Start about half-way down where it asks about HCE and 64-bit versions of windows. The next question after that is more specific about the SE.

Thanks for the quick reply... Any possibility they're going to fix that?

I suppose technically nothing is wrong, the SE just isn't a 32-bit program and hence no backwards compatibility on 64-bit versions of Windows. Many users will benefit from the virtualization abilities that come with certain versions of Windows 7 (i.e. 32-bit Windows XP licensed) and be able to run the SE with that.

To directly answer your question (and assuming that is your issue), I'm not seeing the community support to make the conversion from 16 to 32-bit worthwhile. Those who really want to use the SE are finding a way (of which there are quite a few).
