bug?

I have landed troops at tulagi and Lunga about 2 weeks ago. I took Lunga easly. I have been fighting on Tulagi since then with various attacks. I finally have the Japanese down to a 1 to 1 attack and should take it in 2 days. However, for some unknown reason, my troops pack up and go home without attacking. I order a deliberate attack, and have some troops still unloading. No troops are selected to reload.
I run the turn. When I look next, most of my troops have reloaded on ships without attacking even thought thur the turn it says they are unloading. No attack takes place. Has anyone else seen this?

This is, unfortunately, not a new bug, although one I'd thought we'd squashed. Would need a before-the-fact savegame from you to have a chance of fixing.
