My Apologies for Repeating a Question I cannot find - Missing Report Buttons

In the past week or so, the buttons on my screen have started disappearing, notably the operational reports and combat reports (and another). I KNOW that topic has appeared before in the forum, but for the life of me I cannot find the post or thread. This is the first show stopper I have encountered, which on the bright side might make WITP AE a bit less addictive. Its been a while since I downloaded the last patch and I have actually uninstalled and reinstalled WITP AE to get "rid" of any hotfix induced glitches. If there is an "answer" or fix to the vanished buttons, would appreciate learning about it.

Go in to the Preference & Options screen (hotkey p)
Check the setting of Game Options - Combat reports

It should be ON to get the report buttons.

SMACK! That is the sound of my palm slapping my forehead. Duh on my part. Thanks! I suspected something much more complex. That will teach me to monkey around with preferences.
