Landing craft too vulnerable

Post by Alastair Anderson »

This is really just an information post for those at matrix, but I am in the middle of a pbem game playing the defender against a seaborne invasion and my 37mm and 20mm guns are proving absolutely devastating against landing craft. A single gun with 6 shots has a very good chance of sinking 3 or 4 caft in a single turn, and instead of just damaging them they seem to just sink straight away. This does not seem right - how is the code treating these craft? Should they not be VERY difficult to sink with a small calibre gun? It will be even more irritating for my opponent when he realises that my guns are staying hidden and are almost impossible to spot. I believe I could have a very good chance of wiping out his entire invasion fleet with as few as 5 guns.

Cheers

I have had the same problem, AP rounds should have an effect for the most part on an LC, HE would on passengers unless it was large caliber hE round then it might do real damage...

I've not tried the landing craft except in made scenerios. If I recall the first three in the SP series had a bit of a problem in the other direction, not bad mind you, but still alot of in-out type.
