Ship and Plane withdrawls

Post by decaro »

Sometimes I have problems withdrawing equipment before the due date, esp. when the "withdraw" option is ghosted despite the red warning date on the upper left of the unit screen!

Would that be because I have moved a ship or plane from its point of origin, or changed the latter's HQ?

I'm no expert when it comes to air group withdrawal but i understand the following:

an airgroup with the withdraw option is one that has a return date - IRL it was sent to another theatre of operations or otherwise left the Pacific theatre, but came back later in the war. sometimes the planes and pilots go into the pools, I assume this means the units were deactivated/disbanded IRL and were reformed later.
an airgroup with the disband option ONLY has no return date - IRL these went to ETO etc and never returned to the Pacific. When these disband the pilots and planes are lost; they went to England, North Africa, whatever, not able to be used in the PTO.

Ships can only be withdrawn from OFF MAP bases and a few other regional bases (e.g. Bombay, San Fransisco). Can't remember them all, there was another thread in the last week where the other ports were listed.

hope this helps.... and it's not too incorrect [;)]

Well, I really don't know the ins and outs of this, BUT, in my experience the base and perhaps supply level comes into play..
I had planes on a small base, could not withdraw, moved to minilla, or clark?, and then in the same turn they where able to be withdrawn... good luck
"Tanks forward"
