ME 109G14

I've been trying to find out what the G14 version of the 109 was best suited for. Is it as a fighter to fighter vehicle? What is the best strategy for use of this 109 variant?

well, it is a better verison of the basic 109, so it will do better at alt then the 190 will, it also can carry gunpods, so can be used to hunt bombers

Yes some Engine enhancments for increased performance. Also the R6 Variant can carry the MG-151 20mm gun pods. Where the R1 and R2 Variants were able to carry ordnance for Ground Attack. However I dont believe the R1 or R2 would be represented here. Unless of course it is possible for the Luftwaffe to carry out Fighter Sweeps against Allied targets.

I wonder, can the Luftwaffe perform Fighter Sweeps in BTR with aircraft that had the capability of carrying ordnance?

well, it has higher speed, higher cruising speed, better climb, better top alt, and 3 points higher MVR then the G6

Is it possible to place a patrol over an Allied airfield?  Or is there a zone of exclusion where the LW can't go?  Never thought to try that.

no, you can only place a patrol so close to the Allied lines (there are a lot of Allied units not in, that were in the defensive role)

you can follow, a raid though this zone, but can not place a patrol in it

Given the choice between the Me-109 G6 and 614 models, the G-14 is superior to the G-6 in all roles. So it us your choice how you employ it. The point being that the G-14 is better capable to deal with Allied Bombers if you employ the MG-151 20mm gun pods and better capable to deal with Allied Fighers when you do not employ the MG-151 20mm gun pods.

So in either case the G-14 is superior to the G-6. However you have to decide how you configure the squadron before you launch them.

Very succinct and helpful reply. My son is going to buy this for me as a Xmas present. So between the time of release and that joyful day of installing this there should be patches and a lot of good advice on the forum.
