Chinese Strategy (as China) Need Advise

Post by P.Hausser »

No ANDYG1 plz -- military secrets..

-------------------------------------------------------------

Hello

Any thoughts on how to get a good Chinese Strategy?

Right now, I have secured Sinyang and Icheng and it representing my Northern Front line towards Hankow.
In the North I have established a solid line all the way up to Ynan along the Rail line, and then through the terrain.

In The South I have consolidated my line, so it goes from Lichow to Chengcha along the Rail line, and I have a front line going down to Kukong and Kicheng. The Japanese tried to move onto Kukong, but I shock attacked and inclifted massive casualties on them. I do not expect them to be able to attempt to advance in South China for another 4-5 months.

In The far North they attempted an advance, but I shock attacked and inflicted massive casualties on them, I expect that they are able to try more with other formations there, But I feel confident I can hold.

In Central China, between Hankow and Sinyang We have established a (for now) Static line, but I am concerned as they are shelling me with Artillery and im currently lacking the strength to attack.. who means I can either retreat or die in the long run..

In Central (South of Hankov) I feel I have good control, he has crossed the river near Nancheng, but I'm moving in 5000 AV to Shock attack his 2 divisions, I expect he will take huge losses and then retreat across the river again.

So to sum it up: The Only location I feel threatened at the moment is North of Hankov, on the road between Hankow and Icheng.
I have heavy forts back up in Icheng, but do not really want to retreat up to it because It would add 80 miles more front line to cover (the distance between Icheng and Sinang).. And im being Shelled there, and currently lack the strength to end the stalemate there..

Currently I'm rotating the front line troops there, by sending in the North Sector Reserve to take the load for a few weeks, and when they are weak I rotate back in the original force. Between the two I can hold, but I don't think it can last for many months, as the troops there are subject to heavy shelling every day.

SO... HOW to deal with the Japanese Artillery ?
AND--- WHAT is your opinion on Chinese Strategy ?

If you hold Sinyang and Hankow versus a human we should be asking you for advice. Even if you hold Sinyang you are doing well.

If you don't have the resources to get roughly one to one with him and bombard him in return, then you are probably doing all that could be done. I think that the math is telling you what you need to do.

I have not so many... only 35 SB III, and 1 AVG Squadron as Escort in China.
The I-15's and I-16's are occupied.

As in all similar situations - do not play to your opponents strengths - play to his weaknesses. If pitched battles are his strength - then avoid them. Interestingly, in AE, as it stands now, it may be best for the Chinese to fight a mobile battle in the open! At least discounting airpower this may be true. In the open, the Chinese advantage in AV will be most able to be exploited and moving around will make it harder for the Japanese player to focus his artillery on one spot. So then the key becomes air power. The AVG in China is tough to counter for the Japanese, early on, unless they will commit A6M to China which means they are not elsewhere.

So, defend spread out in rough terrain, shock attack in open terrain and bring in some airpower. If the enemy counters all this, then China is helping her Allies by forcing the Japanese to react to the Chinese and bring Japanese reinforcements into China instead of elsewhere in the Pacific, so then China's allies should respond by exploiting this weakness elsewhere in the Pacific!
