map icon ques

i've been playing AE for the past month, and decided to boot up stock, which i dont think ive touched for 5 years.

anyway, the major difference immediately apparent are the small colored 'icons' next to some, but not all, cities. I looked up in the manual, and i couldnt find a clear explanation of what they were. For instance, Townsville has no icons, but brisbane has Green and White little squares, where Saigon also has a blue diamond.

what are those signifying?

Sounds like you are using Subchaser's map mod with the resources designated by shapes...there is a key to the shapes on the map somewhere.

ahh ok, could be. ive not played in years, and dont remember what was and wasnt installed

Subchaser's map mod was gorgeous...and the resource icons were pretty handy. I think Andrew incorporated them into a rendition of his map also.
