Armada 2526 Race Descriptions

Armada 2526 Race Descriptions.

May we have a copy/paste from the manual or elsewhere of the race biology, social order, history, etcetera; or have it posted on the main site?

I've always loved race descriptions in games and their booklets. I always hope that a game has at least one race each that have a focus in their technology and philosophy that are mostly "biological"(bugs, virus like organisms, various biological construcs with a hive mind), "technological"(robots, androids, various artificial intellgence constructs with a hive mind), "cyborg"(part biological, part technological), "under water swimmers", and "gas giant floaters".

Here's a list of some of the races and some brief descriptions of each (there are longer descriptions in-game but this is the first thing I dug up). There are a few more races too not listed but this should get you started:
  • Human Monkey descendents from Earth
  • Klurgu Heavy set bipeds intent on the destruction of all other races.
  • Qa Qa Vaguely insectoid in appearance, but not in nature, they are unusual in that they have part of their consciousness in hyperspace.
  • XSpectdrada Orphaned children of a long vanished race, their reputed mental powers make them unsettling.
  • A.R.O.M. The Ancient Race Of Machines are an ultra conservative race of synthetic beings.
  • Walden A symbiotic race composed of static tree like creatures with large brains, and small nimble beings who act as their gophers.
  • Cryokon A race that evolved on frigid worlds of frozen methane and ammonia. Specialists in energy efficiency.
  • Linkin Somewhat catlike in appearance and nature, they are descended from primitive predators but have become urbane and civilized.
  • Unn A mongrel race of highly genetically modified individuals.
  • Hoon Yon A machine race with semi sentient individuals controlled by a central core.

Fascinating. I think the Walden sound the most interesting to me thus far.

By the by: Do the various races get certain bonuses/penalties and/or special abilities (some are good at a certain type of research, some are especially good in ground combat, etc.)? Things like that can really help add a bit of character to the race one is playing as.

BTW, there's 2 more races, for a total of 12. Plus splinter factions, and some special factions.

I saw the screenshot of a list of the empires. It shows race name AND a secondary title such as union, empire, assembly, federation, forest, flock.

Is there a third, unique title created for the empires? If not, then how are multiple empires of the same race named; such as several Human Unions, or The Klurgu Empires?

(One nice feature I liked about Mater of Orion 3... was how each empire had a race name and a unique, seemingly random name.)

I have said it once, and I'll say it again - these guys make me feel uncomfortable - partially because of the dirty thoughts I get from their face.

Funny, they are the ones the description says are "unsettling." I concur.

Yes, if you have say three different Klurgu factions they each get their own unique game automatically.
