Ground Combat results?

Post by jackyo123 »

had this interesting combat below - the japanese attacked a still somewhat stocked (about 800 supply) force with an adjusted value of 4:641

Odds were 1:160, in a shock attack.

so - how would the allies lose 2x more troops than them??????

Ground combat at Bataan (78,77)

Japanese Shock attack

Attacking force 15493 troops, 369 guns, 354 vehicles, Assault Value = 575

Defending force 52458 troops, 974 guns, 541 vehicles, Assault Value = 939

Japanese adjusted assault: 4

Allied adjusted defense: 641

Japanese assault odds: 1 to 160 (fort level 3)

Combat modifiers
Defender: terrain(+), forts(+), supply(-)
Attacker: shock(+)

Japanese ground losses:

very very strange. unless the 'supply -' is the big factor; i checked my troops; about 1/5th of them had disruption of 15 or higher; but at least 30,000 troops were in fine shape, with fatigue/disruption levels less than 4/3. I dont understand, unless the ai factors in troop quality that doesnt show up in the odds table, how this result could happen.
