unstable

Post by bo »

I have tried not to say anything more in a negative manner about this game, but I am crashing to desk top at least 5 or 6 times an hour it is so bad I have to save the game every turn. It crashes when I touch an army unit it crashes when the AI is running no rhyme or reason it just crashes when it wants to, I know send me the save and I would but you would be getting 10 or 12 saves in a two hour period sent to you, I do hope in the next game you can figure out what is going on, all my drivers are up to date. Is anyone else having these problems or just me?

Bo,

I have an occasional crash.. maybe one every 8-10 hours of play I would guess.  It crashes more often with the new patch than it did before but its not nearly as pronounced as your experiencing.

I would update your video drivers (Yes I know you said you had the latest one.. still check again) I would check in Dxdiag and see what version of directx your running and for any tell-tales there.

I can almost assure you there is something wonky with your machine's software causing this.  I am equally sure it might be revealed only by the new patch.. my machine hardly ever crashes.. and it started doing so occasionally with the new patch.. so there is blame to go around but 5-6 times an hour.. that my friend is mostly something on your machine that you would be advised to try and correct.

Bo, have you ever tried to close all unnecessary applications/processes before running ToW (even by using Alt+Ctrl+Del)? We know that some of them (e.g. anti-viruses, messengers) can cause crashes. We also know that some of you guys are having troubles with often crashes, but it is hard to fix them when there is no problem during our tests. All we can do is to change something we think can help, and wait for your feedback. If this is caused by some specific application, then we can try to fix it at our side.
