What determines bombing accuracy for an aircraft? On the plane profile screen, sometimes I see a value for bombing accuracy with both fighters and bombers. [&:]

In RL?  Skill of the bomb-aimer, stability of the aircraft,  CAP,  AA-fire?  Also if you are bombing from altitude wind direction and speed?  Best to get as low as possible (and used delayed action fuses so you don't blow yourself up)

For some reason, only after a month of gametime the bombing accuracy shows up. There has been discussion on this topic before, though i can't find the thread.

I am unsure if this is a bug (e.g. it should not show or it should show from game start). The number is fairly straightforward, ther higher the better for hitting stuff (tm). Of course, if you are not on the receiving end.

Perhaps some of the oldtimers here can give more info.

Well when I was in the RAF (as a Navigator on Buccaneers, which were an ultra-low-level strike bomber), we were told to get in as low as possible,  below treetop and roof height whenever possible.
This could explain why we did most of our training either in Germany or else the US...

I meant: the higher the % bombing accuracy, not the altitude.

Lower = king, definately in AE :)

Well if you don't mind losing a bomber here and ther ; )

Are you sure it is in the plane profile? may it be in the group profile?, showing the "actual" (i.e. in your game) group´s accuracy

Altitude does help with the accuracy, but not below 6000 feet. Bomb below 6000 feet with an inexperienced crew, and you still won't be hitting anything.
