ctd

Post by joey »

I am playing BOB as the Germans. About every 3 to 5 days, as I have the computer plot recon for Luft Group 5, I get a CTD. I replay the turn and it is not repeatable. I seem to remember a similar issue in the original version years ago. Is anyone else having the same issue?

So, if Luft5 has auto-plotted recon it may crash. Do you know when? Is it during the reaction phase? Does it seem to be when that possibly bugged recon takes off, gets to the target or lands?

Treale - is it Luft5 autoplot recon for you also, or some other combination?

With a bit more info, I may be able to track this one down...

While plotting missions in BOB, sometimes as soon as I press "plot recon" for Luft 5, I get a ctd. It happens about once every 3 to 5 turns. It is not repeatable. I have learned to save just before pressing the button to have luft 5 plot auto recon. I remember getting these in the original version also. It is just a hassle to remember to keep saving. I forget every once and a while and boom! CTD. Normally upon pressing button the screen change to display all missions. Is it posssible the computer plots an illegal recon and immediately crashes to desktop?

I won't know till I check it out. Luft5 may have an illegal region, or an invalid unit, or just bad luck...

It could be specific to the target, too... This seems likely given the intermittent nature... I'll check it out as soon as I can.

Is it possible that Luft 5 plots more recons than it has planes for and thus CTD?

I don't know about that. All I know is when I hit the button to plot all recons, CTD. So, I don't do that anymore....

BOB 40. The one week scenario. I let the AI pick the recon, that's when I get the CTD!

roger, I mean, there were two target types, Area (which can have Rail) and Railroad, (which has no Area)

for some reason, Railroad does work correctly (this is from the old game)

I had some in, and had to pull them out, found one that I didn't know about, hopefully that is the bugger (and is in a area, that Luft 5 may recon, as the other ones would be out of range)

I hoping you were not pulling railroads out of the list of targets. That would have been a big disappointment. How is the patch coming along?

okay, not sure if I explained it correctly

a AREA target, can have a railroad in it, or not, if it does, it will also show up under the Railroad target list

(if it does not, it will not show up on the map, other then with the Urban button turned on)

but, there is also a RAILROAD target, which will look the same as the area with a RR in it

but for what ever reason, it does not "take" damage

so I had to go in and pull all of those and change them to Area type targets, with RR

but, I just found a 4th one, that I didn't know about (typo, data glitch, fat fingers ?)

hopefully that is the reason

we still in the working stage, got a glitch, that is holding us up, but should be close)
