Blockade

Post by gravey101 »

Does this work as per the manual i.e.

7.2.6 Blockades
Provinces being blockaded produce only half their normal Money income.

My limited testing so far indicates no effect whatsoever. Hopefully this is not the case...

I think you have to have ships in those fleets! [;)]

doesnt seem to make any difference in the couple of tests I have run...

agree that it is odd that 0 strength fleets can blockade but it seems to let you.

Couple of row-boats still there perhaps?

Wow. If true, we need to post that as an error. I don't believe there is a way to drive off such a fleet.

Sounds like another house rule for PBEM.

if it were down to me I would make it so that you needed more ships than the gunnery rating of the province to blockade it... but i would probably make the effect slightly more severe too. I also would not allow blockading fleets to set the 'avoid combat' button.

This business of empty fleets being able to blockade will be addressed in the patch we're working on.

So you guys are saying that blockading doesn't reduce income, despite the manual?

It doesnt reduce province income, but apparantly does reduce trade income. I think the manual could be a little clearer on what the effects are...

Oh, I see -- the manual says "Money" instead of "trade income." But the game itself is working properly?
