Bombing Rubber in Grand Campaign 43

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Bombing Rubber in Grand Campaign 43

Post by Oliver Heindorf »

Hi,
is this a good stragtegy ? I focussed on taking out the rubber plants and the chemical plants first.

I mean if I look at the targets, Rubber sems to be good as there are only three major Fabs for it.

Schkopau near Leipzig, Hüls chemische Werke near Recklinghausen and Ludwigshafen. After they are gone, bye bye to the german rubber industry.

After this I terror the chemical FAbs like Bunawerke near Leipzig, Bernburg IG Farben and AGFA in Berlin, Ludwigshafen Oppau, IG Farben Knappsack and Farbwerk Mülheim. Pulverfabrik Skoda seems way out of range...

but is this a good strategy to win ?

I find myself in this campaign not bombing AFs anymore. I cant tell why, but imho I cripple his industry alot while I dont terror his Aircrafts alot.

comments ? Ideas ?

I've tried the same thing in the past and it didn't do much. Get it to go critical, that is the trick. I don't think that you have the resources to make it stick that early in the game.

Aluminum is almost achievable but just not quite. There are too many deep targets to get over the hump.

Also bear in mind the "Dingo Line." ...I hope Harley doesn't hurt me for that one... Harley figured that you need to average 50 kills a day against LW to have a chance to stay ahead of the accumulated building through the game - plus you need to squeeze down hard on AC through the early game.

Hurting the LW and protecting your experienced bomber crews might be more important than anything else in the early game.
Laws without morals are useless.

Dingo line... hah....

FWIW - I said that several years ago entirely based on observation, before seeing the code,. I have no reason to revise that statement.

What Carlos says is true. The 43 campaign is 700 turns. The first 150-200 are consolodating and building. If you want to jump straight to the attack, go for the 44 campaign.

I use Mosquito Fighter bombers to kill high point industry targets deep within germany. I badly damaged
that 60 rubber plant in 9/43 with 2 squadrons of mosquito fighter bombers. I lost 6 bombers and killed
3 interceptors. I bomb air fields with 100 B-17 and 300+ escorts @20k altitude. 120+ killed interceptors
is not an uncommon result when I raid an airfield in northern germany.
