Beta 2 Patch ASW ship Patrols

Post by jhdeerslayer »

After upgrading I started to notice current ASW ship Patrol Around Target patrols coming back to port and not leaving again. I then noticed newly created ASW Patrol Around Target Patrols (Waypoint ones work OK) do not leave port either now and just sit there. Has anybody seen this?

Save attached. YP-284 at SF is one example I set up for test but I saw this at many other ports. Maybe I am doing something suddenly stupid also. I have disbanded all ASW patrols sitting at other ports so SF is probably the only one in this file.

Yes, there is a problem when the first patrol zone boundary is too close to the home port. Maybe others. Working on it.

OK, took me a while to figure this one out. The root of the problem is not in patrol zone calculation but down in a routine that determines if a TF should return to port to rearm. A single ship TF with a very low grade commander fails the "continue mission" check with a "low ammo" state. The check should only fire when the ship has less than a full load of ammo but it is firing because the poor quality commander's "no guts" offset is applied too early.

Easy fix.
