Based on Slitherine’s popular tabletop wargaming system by the same name, Field of Glory now comes to the PC in a faithful adaptation of this acclaimed miniatures wargame! Without the calculations and measurements required for a tabletop game of Field of Glory, the PC version accurately represents Ancient and Medieval combat where you make the important and fun decisions on the battlefield. This forum also supports the Rise of Rome, Storm of Arrows and Immortal Fire expansions to Field of Glory.

Some questions before I buy.
1) Is this identical to Slitherine's release?
2) Are there many playing online?
3) Why buy from Matrix instead of Slitherine?

Thanks.

1) Is this identical to Slitherine's release?

Yes, it's the same game.
2) Are there many playing online?

Last I checked, yes, but please note that only play is more of an online PBEM/Match manager than a live gamme. You issue a challenge, your opponent accepts, do your turn, your opponent is notified that it's now his turn, etc.
3) Why buy from Matrix instead of Slitherine?

That decision is entirely up to you. We tend to carry most of Slitherine's releases as well since we have a good partnership with them and love their games.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Ok if it is identical, then it's safe to say that I will be able to play the game with people who bought the game from Slitherine and other distributors as well.

That also means patches from Slitherine (which I believe will always be available first) are also compatible to the Matrix reliease.

Am I right?

If that's all then the main driver of my decision is the foreign exchange conversion.  Buying from Matrix comes out cheaper.
