Air Ratings: What does "Experience" do?

Post by Q-Ball »

Question on Air Ratings. It's obvious to me what "NavT" does; the higher the rating, the better chance your pilots will score a hit with that torpedo. Same with "Defn", the better the rating, the lower chance you'll get shot down.

How does "Experience", though, affect the other ratings? Some, not at all? Or does "experience" impact Morale, etc? Or is it sort of an "Overall" rating for reference purposes only?

I have to admit that I am clueless and any comment made by me would be.... guessing...

Perhaps it is a factor for morale, the ability to take punishment or simply land an airplane... A general flying skill to help in all other tasks.

Would make sense, I do notice it seems a bit harder to train exp than other skills in training squadrons. Most of the rookies in there are building skills nicely (one bomber training squadron filled with rookies has 75% in green), while only 1 out of 32 pilots is in green for experience, with one other in orange.

Maybe exp is just an expression of all the other values, maybe including missions flown and kills in that equation...?
Just wondering...

Maybe try posting this on the Air discussion sticky thread.  Someone who actually knows will likely see it there.

Isnt experience used for the "check"to decide if the unit attacks (like morale and fatigue have a -25% modifier, potentially). i though experience had something to do with that as well. So basically: higher experience = unit more likely to do what you want it to do.
