IJ Pilot training p.2

Post by vonSchnitter »

Do not get me wrong please - this is not about getting the "training units" of the previous beta back into play.
In fact, stuff like being able to have CV airgroups doing intensive training while the ship was refitting - and the air group(s) still aboard - rather struk me as short cuts to amend prior errors in pilot management - or poor quality management in game design/testing.

To be more specific: The beta just implemented some sort of crutches - or a wheel chair solutions - as a kind of amendment for prior issues . Whithout solving them.

In case you care to jump on me, here is a quote from the original manual:

16,3:

Some groups can be defined as “Training Groups”. Not to be confused with groups on a mission of Training. These Training Groups can be loaded up with pilots from the last few months of the training roster, and be assigned training missions like any other group. But they cannot fly combat missions. Once the pilots have gained a certain level of skills, they can be released back into the Reserve Pilot pool. Instructors can be pulled into the group to increase training.

Ever seen them before or after the "beta" ?

This is not a customer complaint thing - I am a "Plank Owner" from the days of UV and beyond.
But it is time to clarify things - beyond complexity by obscurity stratagems.

If allowed, this thread is about what we got so far.

Lets start with the nitpicking:

How come IJA group COs (Sentai) are not listed as active pilots on the rosters (pilot list) - only on the Chutai/squad level - while their IJN counterparts in comparable sized groups are.

Since we are on the obscurity versus complexity hunt - three simple questions:
a) is that assessment true ?
b) How does the "leader" traits affect IJA groups differently from IJN groups - and why is it not represented at Chutai/Squadron level ?
c) How does b influence training
Do not gimme the "defs do nor read this kind of thread" thing - make sure they do - once
