Attacking Force Withdraws Automatically

Post by santino250 »

I am attacking the Japs, at Esp. and we are pretty evenly matched... about 20,000 men each, Infantry, Tanks, FA, AA, and plenty of supplies...

All have good #'s no disruption, fatigue, moral's good... I have control of the sea.. and are about to land 16000 infantry to overwelm Japs....

and my men all just automaticaly board TF's and leave... and 10'000 men disappear...

Is there a limit to # of days of and invasion?

No. I don't know what is causing your problem, but it is not that.

I've seen that happen when the AI tries to invade one of my heavily defended bases.  It tried to land a battalion of SNLF at Port Moresby, currently defended by several divisions, CD units, etc with lots of forts.  After a turn or two of massacres on the beach, the "troops re-embark on ships" message shows up and they evacuate.  I've not seen it when everything is going well though for the landing force.

Is it possible that those troops were scheduled to withdraw on that date? If you have a save file prior to the event, check to see if they were on the list of units to be withdrawn.

Did you unload additional supplies?
If you gained knowledge through the forum, why not putting it into the AE wiki?
