Unit co-operation?

Post by parzival »

Could someone explain me what exactly is the effect if I add into my attack a non co-operating unit (i.e. one with the black flag)? Is it completely useless or can it even cause some harm? What if this non co-operating unit is the only that can be used to open a new flank? How about if I attack with two formations who have good internal co-operation but dont co-operate with each other?

From the manual:

The penalty for using Non-Cooperative or Limited Cooperative
units varies. The strongest effect is in combat. Non-Cooperative
units are more likely to pull out of Attacks early, and increase the
chance that combats will take longer to resolve. The same is true
to a lesser extent for units with Limited Cooperation

Yes, but let us assume that I attack a hex with two divisions, let us say three regiments in both. Assume that they have full internal cooperation but that the cooperation between the two divisions is "the black flag". How is it determined which units in this battle are non cooperative units and how is the combat time lengthening penalty calculated? If I introduce more non cooperative units into the attack, does this increase the penalties?

And what if I want to make an artillery strike first to soften the enemy and involve artillery units from different non cooperating formations? Does this have any kind of effect?

Did you look at this one? If you didn't, maybe it will help.

[:D] Has this been patched?

If not it would seem the best course of action would to make everyone coop. [;)]
