Leader notes

From the legendary team at 2 by 3 Games comes a new grand strategy masterpiece: Gary Grigsby’s War Between the States. Taking gamers back to the American Civil War, this innovative grand strategy game allows players to experience the trials and tribulations of the role of commander-in-chief for either side. Historically accurate, detailed and finely balanced for realistic gameplay, War Between the States is also easy to play and does not take months to finish.

Leader notes

Generally speaking the accuracy of generals in this game is pretty good, but I have noticed a few historical discrepancies. I think I will make note of them here as I find them, either for official reference or my own use. Is the leader data easily moddable? What file is used?

1) Phil Sheridan shows up too early. I've got him in late 1861 or early 1862, while he historically wasn't made a cavalry colonel until late May 1862. In the games I have played, this means the Union side has Sheridan in the field before the Confederates have Bedford Forrest in the saddle!

I figured out the file format and I think I'll be working on a mod that adjusts the leaders historical date availability somewhat.
