How do I discern which version my game is?

Sorry. I just tried to start a game and I see the version number nowhere on any of the pregame screens.

The screen with the menu on the right headed by "Start game".

The belt of Ammo in the snapshot should identify this screen.

I don't know if the copy I downloaded from Matrix is corrupted, or not, but there is no Version # on my start screen like the one you displayed. There is nothing there on my screen.

It is not corrupted, but it is quite old.  The version indicator was placed there a while back, but was not there at first, so you are probably pre 1.6.  I think I would download the 1.7 beta if I were you.  I am finding it a very enjoyable playing experience.

The official 1.7 game will come along sometime in the future, but till then the beta version has some significant changes to the AI which make the solo game a real challenge.

Downloading involves registering as a member, and I believe it requires that you bougth the game directly from Matrix, but I am no authority on that.

Have fun,

Will I have to restart the games I have in progress?

I think you might, but multiple version can exist on the same machine.

Copy your "Time of Wrath" folder and name the copy "Old ToW", then install 1.7 beta over the "Time of Wrath" folder. You can start the Exe in "Old ToW" to continue your current game, and start new games from the 1.7 folder. I currently have 1.6 and 1.7 folders on my box, with active games in each.
