Aslo just got the game

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

Aslo just got the game

Post by mcpolle »

Hi guys,

Just wanted to say h, have just got the game, and have tinkered around a little with it, it looks great, one quick question tho, when in combat, does it make a difference, if I flank my enemy, and either shoot from the flank, or charge from there???

Otherwise, the only other question, which is a good starting country, England seems a little tricky, as it has no army to talk of.

Regards

Howdy, I think you will like the game (I do and I was one of the testers)

yes, flanking will be a big help, plus there is skills, that will improve this damage

most will disagree with me, but I think France is the one to start with, you have a lot more going on, and easier to screw up, but, as France you can control what is going on, and force the issue (which will also depend on what your starting date is, but everybody hates you as France

(as you say, England is small, so is Sweden, Russia, Turkey and Spain, are the poor sisters of Europe, and a lot of the early game will be spent trying to get them onto solid footing (fun once they are) then there is Austria and Prussia, the trouble with them, is France, you are either at war with them already, or soon will be, and once locked in, you are sure to be stabbed in the back by someone)

(notes on Charging, use Cav to try and force the target to form Square, once in Square, leave them alone, for Inf, only Charge, if you have to, nothing worse then having Inf charge another Inf Div, do slight damage and then get there formation shook up, only to be Counter Charged by the enemy Horse)

Thx HS, have actually started as France 1796, very much fun, lost Paris in turn 2, so will be having to start again, but as far as the battles go, am kicking Austrian butt.

Cannot quite work out how to build as yet, but am sure will work something out :-)

Are those games in your sig??? Because I love WWII flight games, there are just not many of them around.

it is a remake of the old Talonsoft, Battle of Britain, and 12 o'clock high, bombing the Reich
