Wide screen support

Post by Skanvak »

I am playing on a 1920/1200 wide screen. It seems to me that the game is distorded a bit. Does other experienced the same problem.
How can I compel my screen to respect the width/length ratio?

Best regards

It should auto change your res to 1024 x 768. This is THE res for the game. Also understand that 96dpi is the supported screen aspect. Some wide screens can default to 120dpi! You may want to check these!

The game switch well to 1024/768 but this is a ratio of 1,33 whereas my screen have a ratio of 1,6. I am looking for a way to compel it to keep the 1,33 ratio (ie to draw black strip). I have not yet find how to do that. Because the game stretch to fill the screen (and is distorded).

Do you think there is a solution?

Edit : I solved the problem with the catalyst control center. There is a device that force the system to keep the ratio. But I have to make all ratio be managed by the GPU. I don't know if there is drawbacks.

I don't really know.

ATI graphic cards come with a program called "Catalyst Control Center"

In advance option you have "DTV (DVI) 2

There is an option to scale the image with 3 setting :
_ keep hight/width ratio
_ adjust image to pannel
_ use centered scalling

The ePSXe, a PSX emulator has a similar device.

The result is that the image is not stretch to fit the screen. It is display at the good ratio with two black area where there is no image (like the cinemascope movie on old TV screen).

Best regards
