Error when Opening Saved Game

I get the following error when attempting to open a saved game:

"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way..."

Contents of ConsoleOut.txt:
Wyznaczam aktualne panstwo…
Odz”. Aktualne panstwo = Germany

*Running 1.7 hotfix
*game has been fine up to this point

Try to open commanders.csv file from your savegame folder using notepad, go to the end of last line and hit <ENTER> so there will be new empty line at the end of file. Save and try again. If this doesn't help, please send your ziped savegame folder to bleck[at]wastelands-interactive[dot]com. I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with one of save csv files (no ";" at the end of each line... if your save will confirm this then we will fix game code for next patch/hotfix).

Thanks for the reply.&nbsp; While trying to recover I restored from another save and then overwrote the bad save.&nbsp; If it occurs again, I'll post the info.

Hi, I've just downloaded yet another update from the web for 1.7, however when I try to open a saved game, the game just reverts to the main menu window. The only reason that I downloaded was I was hoping for more bug fixes, as I had several game crashes. The game is otherwise excellent but the number of bugs is frustrating. I have lost previous saved games when updating my version but I beleive that I am still on the same version?

You had 1.7 and now downloaded 1.7 hotfix? Or you had 1.6 and downloaded 1.7?
The best you can do is to check (or post it here, or sent to my email mentioned above) ConsoleOut.txt (few last lines) right after the problem occurs. If you want you can send your save folder to me, so we can analyze it in details to discover what exactly is the problem and fix it.

O'll send you a file too. I'm gettinf a runtime error and I had the game saved in multiple entries.

I'm gettign a runtime error when I try to load a saved game, as well.

Ok, looks like we solved both problems.

One of them was the "commanders.csf file" bug mentioned by me in second post in this thread. Solution also in mentioned post (add new line at the end of saved game commanders.csv). This means that there is some issue with this file saved by ToW v1.70+hotfix. We will check this and hopefully fix soon.

Second one was strange - saved game was created by ToW v1.70+hotfix, but game was trying to read it like it was ToW v1.70 (without hotfix). Solution: (re)installing hotfix for 1.70

Bleck, as per my email, the fix you mentioned did work, however I got another crash later in the day. When I try to open any saved game I get a crash and put back to the main game menu as before. I again tried to reinstall the game using the update game link on the game menu. I was informed that a new version of the game was available so I downloaded it and the hotfix. This has not helped and I still get game crashes when trying to load a saved game
