Access violation in 'Trench.exe' in Windows 7

Post by ron the cabbie »

Having spent almost 3 days playing a solitaire campaign as CP player from 1914 upwards, I was frustrated when I was confronted with an access violation and could not progress further. Just after France surrendered and following the Nov-Dec 1916 strategic phase, I advanced the game, all the usual happened, naval battles etc. the Activation phase message appeared, I continued, and got the message: Access violation at address 005EFBA5 im module 'Trench.exe'. Read of address 137EFD4D.
I was running the game on a new system in Windows 7 compatability mode for XP Service Pack 2 and as administrator.
I have also just had the same thing happen again on my XP system and just noticed that after the fall of France all my units returned to the 1914 set up line and the British disappeared before the Strategic phase. Should this happen as it didn't when Serbia surrendered?
Has anybody else encountered similar problems?[&:]
