Ohhh?  And how can you be certain it wont' be another Hasbro "Squad Leader" fiasco?  :P

Just kidding guys.  I hope this does finally come around this year, but I am not going to bet on it.

Also hoping for a release this year, but I don't have any clue what's it going to be.

The joke is that this game has been in production for over five years! When someone said that it was "vapor ware" Mark said that we should have anyone with any questions about the game come to the Lock n Load forum. We followed the game's development through the fall of last year when Mark said in an interview that it was scheduled for 2009. When that didn't happen some of us asked questions in the forum, Mike got annoyed, and presto!...the lock n load forum disappeared! So here we are in 2010 waiting to see if this game will be produced this year, but I wouldn't count on it. I used to believe that the game wouldn't hit the market until 2010, but now my guess is that it never will never be produced at all.

I understand perfectly what you're saying, but I still hope to see something that might give us some to look forward to.

So the forum is no longer on Mikes site??? That is ominous indeed.

Things may not be as grim as that. Mark said the company forum was too much of a hassle to maintain. So this site as well as the boardgamegeek site for his company (and consim) are primary sites now. Remember he is primarily a boardgame customer and has a lot of activity there. So I think he is spread pretty thin. I believe the game will come out. Probably still this year. THey had entered beta testers stage if I recall correctly.

This game was a lead on to get us to buy the board game. This is so vapor ware.

I admire your hard nosed cynicism but I bet we'll see this game eventually. I've been watching it for years :-( and tangible progress continues to be made.. it's his first forey into computer games and he has one programmer I think. Coming from a programming background I can tell you things you've never done before almost always take 2x to 3x the expected time.
Anyway let's hope I'm right :-)

Hmm!

Well, it is probably for the best that there are not too many (good) Squad Leader games for the PC out there, or I'd be wasting more time with my life than I currently do :P

Honestly, they're too far along (as we have seen from the the sporadic screen shots and information releases) not to get this one out the door. It's a small company and their first computer game. Patience.

Comment from Mark on CSW:

"We are putting up a lot of P500 (another one tomorrow), but about 80% of my time is currently dedicated to WSR, 25% helping Janice ship, 15% on LOF8, 22% on stamping Heroes of Stalingrad bugs, and 6.5% on putting a QA on Op Garbo values, which currently are suffering from home-boy syndrome."

So there's still hope....[8D]

Fingers crossed......the lack of squad level games is a real downer for me...my favourite level for wargaming...when you think of the success that this level has with wargamers i.e ASL, ATS, Conflict of Heroes and Company Commander you'd think there would be more PC games being made.

Why Paradox bought the ASL rights just to sit on them is damn annoying aswell.

22% on stamping Heroes of Stalingrad bugs...

I'd say, a couple of months before going Gold.

Want to bet? My guess is that we'll still be talking about a release date for this game in 2011.

Hehe, no bets, I knew when writing that post, that I'd probably read the same post again in a year or so... and the game still being not published [:D]

Then again, I'm always optimistic. I waited 10 years or so for the sequel to "Hail to the King baby" Duke Nukem, and I'm *still* optimistic about a release... in a couple of years from now LOL.
So yeah, it could be a couple of months... it could be a year, maybe two, maybe never, who knows.
But the screenies look good nevertheless.

Where has the LnL forum disappeared to follow the progress of this game?

Best regards
