well its the end of 43 and finaly

OK,... drum beat! I am starting to see the tilt over effect where the enemy starts to lose more and more planes and yours get better and better.. was hoping to see this in late 42!
So now my 38 47 and 51 stand up and kill those valuable uber aces my oponeent has developed ..
After all its pretty discouraging when your best anti air platform is a b-24!
Now we are even or a littel better BUT I have a huge numerical advantage.. and my qaulity will increase as the pilots actually live more than a few engagements..

And this is the point where I usually send up the new cannon fodder to annoy you while I move my experienced units home to defend Japan. No sense in getting all my Aces slaughtered and not having them available when I really need them starting in 1944 with the B-29s pummeling my industry. [;)]

I try to get their training up to 60 before committing pilots to the front lines. Not always possible, but very helpful to survival.

yep, I would love to se my oponeent pull back.. BUT I am pushing down the doors in SRA, if he pulls back now he will only have have an empire with most of the expeditionary forces out of reach of the HI! GREAT!
OR
He confronts my bold agression and we each lose some, the tetter totter starts its downward cycle and then .. what? I will be very interested in where this winds up... in mid 44?

Training pilots is very important.  Most Allied pilots don't arrive ready for combat, when trained up to 50s or 60s, they are effective even against the pre-war Japanese cadre.  If you're throwing untrained pilots into the fray hoping they will figure it out as they go along, they will continue to be cannon fodder.

skill or exp? If we´re talking about skill (air) then there´s no real sense in throwing in below 70 air skill pilots from early/mid 42 on because if you´ve done your training homework then you will have 5 70 airskill pilots for each fighter. My PBEM is in 6/42 now and I´ve got hundreds of 70 air skill pilots in the reserve pool, I´m already thinking about reducing the work I´ve put into training. Exp is another story, I doubt those pilots would ever reach 70 exp. Got bomber crews that really do well in their B-17s but after halve a year of constant attacks they´re still far from reaching 70 exp.
