Small recommendation and a question

Distant Worlds is a vast, pausable real-time, 4X space strategy game which models a "living galaxy" with incredible options for replayability and customizability. Experience the full depth and detail of large turn-based strategy games, but with the simplicity and ease of real-time, and on the scale of a massively-multiplayer online game. Now greatly enhanced with the new Universe release, which includes all four previous releases as well as the new Universe expansion!

Small recommendation and a question

Post by ceyan »

Recommendation:
Space is big, so can we spread out the planetary clutter a bit? Maybe allow ships to be considered "docked" when not directly on top of the station/planet? And maybe let stations stand off from the planet as if in orbit (I don't care too much about the actual rotation, just position). Also if possible add a bit to the range in which ships will idle when waiting at a planet/station.

Question:
The (Empire) colored lines connecting your colonies, do they represent anything tangible, or just there for the hell of it?

----------------------------------------------------------------
And, just for a final note, I'm really enjoying the game! I absolutely love macro-management and its amazing to see a new game that pulls of it with any level of success.

Hi Ceyan,

Those lines represent you trade routes, the private industry ships will follow those trade routes to drop off goods from the various planets and stations to the star port collection sites. You can modifty the routes by building star ports in strategic locations to decrease the travel distance for your private industry traffic.
