When I first saw this game I thought it might be interesting. Then I saw the videos and I started to get worried because what was being described sounded to good to be true.

This game is AWESOME and MONUMENTAL. The fact that a relatively small developer made this game puts other, much larger developers, to shame.

Then there is the fact that issues and questions have been so quickly and faithfully answered EVEN ON A WEEKEND when many other companies don't take time to answer.

The fact that a beta patch has been offered with such speed leaves me speechless. I have always been a fan of Matrix, but this is really above and beyond the call of duty.

I am hooked and think I will be playing this game for a long time.

Games like Distant Worlds restore my faith in computer gaming to be honest. There is so much recycled rubbish, with the most appalling drm stuck on, that when something like DW comes along, that is so innovative and different - and drm free, it makes me remember why I fell in love with pc gaming all those years ago.

Every once in a while a game comes out that reminds you there is still stuff being developed beyond cookie-cutter sequels and variations on the same old song (I've been in this hobby for over 30 years).

Last year it was Solium Infernum. Now Distant Worlds. Both basically from one person with a vision. Reminds me of the old days (sniff).

I too have had those feelings too, like when I first loaded up MOO.

I know with future updates, and all the user mods that will come out eventually, it will be the sleeper hit.
