Transporting Air Groups

In my current PBeM I have several Claude air groups at Kwajalein Island (area) and they will not upgrade to zeros due to lack of AF size and supplies. I want to transport them to Truk - closest base where they can upgrade - but my opponent has no less than 6+ subs in the area and I'm afraid to put the entire air group in 1 AK for the transfer. Is there any way to split the unit onto 2 AKs while loading it ? I am talking units that are unable to split on their own.

You don't need to transport them by ship. I always transport them to Panoke or Panobe I forget the name exactly and you can get them all to truk in a two step process by air transfer extended range!

if I remembe it right, it's possible to fly Claudes to Truk. Transport one AF company to Ponape, and claudes can fly Kwajalein -> Ponape -> Truk.

If you move the 4 Fleet HQ to Kwajalein, you'll be able to upgrade them to Zeros.

Oh it's the 4th Fleet is it? All this time I thought it was the 11th?
