Davor's First attempt at an AAR.

Post by HsojVvad »

Well I never done anything like this before. I see the mistake I made, by erasing everything to start as a pre-warp race. Not adviced to do at all. At least keep a few ships. Well I will be starting a new game soon, but will continue a bit to see what colonizing our solar system in the real world might be like. It's slow, freaking slow. But onto the AAR. It's long, and any tips on how to improve would be appreciated.

Dawn of a New Age

Date: 2754-01-08

Dawn of a new age. We stand on the threshold of a new beginning. We are actually united as one for the first time in our history. No longer are we bickering and fighting amongst ourselves. We have almost come to extinction because of us not getting along, and wiping out our mother planet. But prevailed we did. United we have become.
I suppose having finally deciphered the ruins of the Grand Tomb that we were in awe of for eons helped. After seeing how this once great civilization flourished and became instinct we wanted to make sure we did not fallow down the same path. The same path, we do not fallow now. Now we are a Democratic planet united as one now. Even though I am only a figure head, the people always seem the need to fallow one person to guide them. Guide them I shall try. We are on a new phase in our evolution. No longer are we binded to our mother planet. Now we are on the brink of leaving Joshua’s Throne. We have developed technology that will be able to take us into outer space and beyond. Now we will be able to colonize and mine the other 10 planets and 12 moons in the Auhsoj system.
As I stand out on the veranda of my Palace, looking up, staring at the night sky, I see our 3 moon orbiting Joshua’s Throne. What a lovely site to behold. As I peer away from the lovely moons, I can see the flashing lights of our first “Large Space Port” being built. This is our doorstep for new challenges. People are already dreaming of the day they will be able to settle a new world. Dreams of wealth and glory await many people.
As I head back in, getting ready for the Launch of our first Exploratory Space Craft, I get a sudden chill, wondering what lies await in the deep frozen ends of Space…

We are not alone

Date: 2754-09-20
So we are not alone in the Universe after all. A new species has come into our system. I was hoping we would be initiating first contact, but that doesn’t seem the case. We are not as Technology advanced as we thought we were. While this new life form we encountered, the Free Andat Coperation, we tried to make a trade pact. They say we are too poor to bother with. While it is only a scout ship that we see, our population is getting a bit restless now. It does look like we made the correct decision to advance into outer space. If we haven’t started our space programme we wouldn’t have been ready for this. Let’s just hope that we weren’t too late into reaching the Door Step and our new “friends” have no other plans. At least they say the respect our reputation, so that is a good start I believe. Let’s hope I am not wrong.

3 years go by and we still waiting to get our first FTL craft. I see a general location of where they might have originated. North West of the Galactic plane. Well at least our friends still like us. I am a bit weary though since our diplomats say that they don’t like how we become strong. I didn’t think a few civilian ships would pose much of a threat to our new friends. We have no military ships. I am wondering if we need to have some military ships on hand just in case. If anything has taught us in our history, when meeting strangers, it’s not always correct being nice. Sometimes being nice, means you are a slave the day. Maybe it’s time we rethink our plans. We should be able to defend ourselves at least if the time comes.
Things are really moving slowly. We still don’t have our first State Ship yet and we have just met another race into our system. The Imperial Mortelan Kingdom.
So life in the universe is no fluke. I have to assume there is more. From the merchants that come to our Space Port, we are told that space in not a nice place at all. We should be on guard. I only hope that our slow progress doesn’t mean we are too late.

Galaxy Settings
Elliptical Galaxy
Dwarf Galaxy: I still find 100 stars a lot, so to me this is a big galaxy for a playing style when playing Moo games
Independent Life: Teaming. I had a lot of them just in case there is a lot of uncolinzable planets this way they can be colonized now.
Expansion: Starting. I love starting with nothing and working my way up. So what if I fall behind the other races. How else are you going to learn. If you don’t make mistakes you can’t win.
Aggression: Nomal
Research Speed: Normal. Usually I have it at the lowest speed, but since I am learning how to play this game, I need to know what normal is and see if that is too fast for my liking or not.
Space Creatures: Normal
Pirates: Normal
Home System: Normal
Size: Starting
Tech Level: Basic. Again I like to start out with little as possible.
4 Empires randomly generated.
100% control of the galaxy. Fight to the last drop. I don`t like sandbox since I found out I was playing for what?
I have deleted everything except for my home planet, this way I feel like I am at the Pre-Warp era. Yes I know I can send a ship to another Star System, but I use my imagination that by building the first space station that buy the time, I can build my first explorer ship, I have the tech to explore other star systems.

The first system I explore is the ones that we already know. There is nothing we can do about it at the moment, so I don’t look there until the explorer itself goes there then I consider it explored.
