Memory Issue

Post by RViener »

I no longer get crashes per se in my games but after saving large games with 20+ years play, I get a message that "due to the size of the file the saved game cannot load". I forwarded copy of the save last week and I'm wondering if this issue has been addressed in the upcoming patch. It's disappointing to get frequent crashes but in these extended games I really have a lot of time invested. The games don't crash and they can be saved but not reloaded. Thanks in advance, Bob Viener

Alot of memory optimizations are being made in the patch, but only Elliot could really answer if the patch will allow larger savegames being loaded

Ok. I cant load my save from my last game. I waste my time playing this game and waste more time to manual design all ships and stuff. Now I cant load save. The bad thing is that I dont care. Now game is buggy and simply bad. I lost my interest in this game. I dont see any sense in playing this game now.

Hang in there, the next update is on its way and I think it will help with a lot of the issues that are still unresolved a little over a week after the release. If you are getting frustrated with issues that affect your playstyle, please just take a break and try the next update.

Is the update still on course for release later this week?

Ok I am still getting the out of memory error when loading a save game with 1.0.3. This is with a 1400 star galaxy with max ai's. I have 2GB RAM plus 4 GB virtual on a XP SP3 32bit system. A save is available.

Your save loads ok for me, galaxy looks empty. The races you have not dicovered must be busy.

I have made a little progress with the latest patch, but any save over 116MB will not load for me. I am gearing up for my first major war, I hope the AI is good because half the time I am not sure what is going on[X(]
