Hyperdrive Speeds

Post by BigWolfChris »

After abit of playing about, I've come across this little tad-bit
Of course, people may already realize this BUT, there will be some who don't

From Galactopedia
.......
Also ship size is irrelevant to the speed of a hyperdrive: ships of any size travel at the same speed when fitted with the same hyperdrive. However hyperdrives require energy from a reactor, and insufficient reactor energy can be a factor limiting the effective hyper speed of a ship

A Hyperdrive requires x amount of energy to achieve maximum speed, this energy amount is different for each Hyperdrive

How you achieve this is to ensure the "Excess Energy Output" exceeds the needed energy
If your Excess Energy Output is lower, the hyperdrive's maximum speed is lowered, based on how short the fall is (so if you're 10% short, you will loose 10% of your maximum speed in hyperspace)

Thought I would throw this out for any interested minds
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 8 Core @3.7GHz
2x16 GB Vengeance LPX 2666MHz RAM
MSI RTX 2070 Armor 8G
SSD Drive
