What does the future hold for Distant Worlds?

Post by HsojVvad »

Ok, I know the game just came out less than 2 weeks ago. I know the developers are busy working on patches to make the game better.

What I would like to know, is what is the future holds for Distant Worlds? Is CodeForce and Matrix have any plans for any updates? By this I mean by making patches or updates that don't fix things, but either changes something or adds something in. Or do you guys plan on expansion packs or DLC as they call it now? I would hope you guys are working on something like this instead of a sequal. I would love a sequal but I am not ready for that yet.

Alot of good ideas were given, and I would love to see these implimented for Distant World in 3 or 6 months and not years in a sequal.

Great job guys, I love the game, please keep it up.

Yes, but it's too early to get into details. Once things calm down a bit, we will discuss future plans in terms of improvements and expansions.

Oh I know it's too early. I am glad that DW is not the final product and there is more to come. You do not know how much I love this game. It keeps me busy 4, 5, 6 hours a day or more. Just wish I didn't keep restarting all the time. But that is a good thing.

I am delighted that you are having so much fun with it. I can say that we love it too and stick with it as we do plan to make it better. We literally just don't have time to get into that now. Elliot and I still need to put our heads together and go over the public wish list as well as our own wish lists and see what makes the cut as far as updates and expansions go.

I hope to get more smaller quests, or particularly the chance to put in my own. I see this as a great platform to be a spiritual successor to space rangers and would love to develop something around that concept.

In Erik and Elliot, I can trust that they will make this game into the game we can play again and again many years from now.

In the near future (2010 A.D.), please allow full modding (AI included) when all the bugs are killed.

I've finally been able to put in a few hours. This is a wonderful game that becomes more interesting as it progresses. I hope developer and community work on bug fixes, ui issues and new features remains intense, because this is easily the most promising 4X game I've played.
