First, I lost b/ I neglected to read the time for the scenario. You have 24 hours to get your tanker to the ref point. Basically, you need to make a b-line for it. I did a round about course to the SE and I did not get there in time.
But, it did make it harder to find me.
Despite some Lynx recon, we basically stumbled upon each other. There was a DD in range so I let lose 4 x Exocets. Most hit and the DD was a sinking. I conti nued my course west and sent a helo to find the CL; hoping she was alone. No such, luck as I detected at least 2 more ships but then the Lynx got shot down.
By this point my radar was hot so I got into range of another target and let loose 4 more Exocet. They did some damage as she slowed to 8 knots but she was till up. Out of SSM, I turn tail and run southeast. I believe at this time the Argentines are also out of SSMs and just have the CL's big guns.
I leave the tanker alone and send the Broadsword North with her 4 Exocets. When I range I launch them at the DD but get no hits. Damn! I keep turning tail to stay out of range of the CL guns. I already lost 1 ship and cannot lose another. Shortly thereafter the game ends b/ of time.
Overall a fun time for each of us. I think it'll be tough for the scenario to not end in a draw if both sides play a decent game. Thus it's tough to win but if you can pull it off, you're an expert IMHO.
