Cdo/Para Squads

Post by aoffen »

I am trying to drop the 2/4 Ind Co and its sister companies by air onto an unoccupied enemy island, but get an error message saying there is no friendly airfield at the location. These formations consist of Cdo/Para units so I assumed they were air droppable, is this not the case?

I have been able to do that with those units. Extracting them is a different problem.

Really?

Only units with the parachute icon should be para-capable. The Aussie Independent Coys are not among those units (they cannot drop them but they are air-transportable and you can fly them in with transport planes to friendly bases).

To answer the original poster's question: The Cdo/Para squads contained in a unit do not make this unit para capable.

As far I saw in my game, you can re-combine some of these companies into a para-capable battalion

I think one of the Bn's is para capable as a proxy for that ability exiting in some of these troops

Yes, that is what I used, the 1st Australian Para BN with CDO/Paras. I was answering the question that you could drop CDO/Paras. Forgot to go on and say it had to be the 1st Australian Paras.
