Please Pardon Me

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Please Pardon Me

Post by Analog Kid »

Long time ago in a Galaxy far away I started an (HTTR) AAR for Nimgen - Coup de Main scenario from the allied side. Its the Historical what if “Gliders First Doctrine” variant. Life got in the way and I never finished it, and rather than recreate it I did it from the Hun side instead. Had a computer again for about a year and I am eagerly awaiting, ...practically about to wet myself, waiting... waiting...for the Battles from the Bulge.
To get me into the mood for BftB, and maybe you?, please check out my AAR in the HTTR Forums and spend some time with the Little General that shouts things inside my head.

***Warning Absolute Nonsense Follows***

Read at your (*Yawn*) peril.

Basic, exit stage left internet rant...Where I describe my limited Academic knowledge of the subject in Grandiose terms and implore you to do it my way ( after all I did make Corporal ;) ) and you try to guess the last time I took my medicine or wonder exactly what the hell I'm talking about.

Legal Disclaimer.
The above statement does not resemble any person living, dead, asked or told. It is my client's pathetic attempt at humor. Just because a person is a fan of Monty Python and Jon Stewart's Daily Show is no excuse for the prior, current or future attempts at satire from my client. The strain of waiting for BftB has obviously caused my client to vent the following verbal diarrhea and attempts to spread mental constipation. If you are still reading at this point you wave all rights to sue my client for damages, mental or otherwise.

In fact, we may be, in the very near future, filing a lawsuit against Dave O'Connor, Panther Games Pty Ltd, Matrix Games and Microsoft ( depending on who has the most money ) for the mental anguish, imagined physical suffering and Loss of Consortium (look it up) with his imaginary girlfriend that my client has suffered, from the aforementioned parties, these last 6 to 9 months of not releasing BftB.

Why HTTR and not COTA? There is some very cool stuff in COTA, some very cool tools for LOS and determining effective weapon ranges etc., its just not my war. I kinda feel about AN/ZAC like General Turgidson in Dr. Strangelove: or, How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb felt about the Russians..
“Mr. President, if I may speak freely, the Russkie talks big, but frankly, we think he's short of know how. I mean, you just can't expect a bunch of ignorant peons to understand a machine like some of our boys. And that's not meant as an insult, Mr. Ambassador, I mean, you take your average Russkie, we all know how much guts he's got. Hell, lookit,.. look at all them.. them Nazis killed off and they still wouldn't quit.“

I was in a Recon Platoon for a Armor Battlon in Korea. Was there '89-'90. We had 3 M113's and 3 M-901 Improved TOW Vehicle (ITV). I walked up many a F'kin hill and peeked over the top before moving those thin skin vehicles down the other-side. I have Respect, my foot 'sore' soldier brethren , Respect! trust me. It is just not my peoples war and COTA could not hold my interest.

My people fought for England and America. My (American)Grandfather was a MP/Base Security for some 8th AF bomber base and married my English Grandmother. Her brother flew night fighters for the RAF, my Grandmother served with the British Women's Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF), and was in London for the entire Blitz. She also took a convoy in '43 to New York, in which several ships were sunk by U-Boats, to stay with her new in-laws in a small desert town in West, By God, Texas. In-laws, whom she had never even spoke to. Ok sorry, Im bragging now. Can't help it, the old bird is 90 yrs old sharp as a tack. Ok one more cliche, and 'tough as nails'. Can you imagine her culture shock? Even after listening to her stories I cannot begin to imagine...

Anyway or whatever

Please don't make me beg for BftB. Cause I will.
