AI Suggestions

In my most recent game I noticed a few AI issues that need to be addressed somehow. These observations come from playing the Germans in the 1939 scenario:

1) The AI is far too willing to send its important naval assets on raiding missions. Its one thing to raid with subs and its another to raid with CVs, BBs, and CAs. In my particular game, the Royal Navy crippled itself in one year by overly aggressive raiding. What amounts to short-term headaches for human players losses the game for the AI in the medium and long-term (especially for the allies).

2) It seems like the Soviet AI cannot make a continious front line, which opens them up for huge encirclements.

Overall, I think the AI performs alright in most circumstances. In the battle for France the AI fought hard and fairly smart in a ultimately lost cause. For a game with open manuever like ToW, the AI does a passable job, but the naval AI needs lots of work. And since the naval game is so abstract, it shouldnt be so hard to make it perform well.

1. This is not a bad tactic. The problem is those ships do not fight as they should when engaged if they're raiding...

2. What difficulty are you playing at? in my experience AI makes even too tight and too continous lines, without any space for their retreat.

2. What difficulty are you playing at? in my experience AI makes even too tight and too continous lines, without any space for their retreat.

1.) You have a point. The important thing is that, whatever the real cause, the AI is killing itself.

2.) I am at a point where if I launch my attack into the SU, I will encircle huge amount of troops who are almost pre-making a pocket for me. I have seen the behavior you speak of also.

Edit- I have the AIs play on easy or very easy.

That's curious, I see SU AI doing continues lines... although they are thickest around cities, that's true.
