In the St. Vith scenario ive noticed one tank Bn with 11 Stuarts. I didn't know they used them that late in the war in european theater.

I'm pretty sure Stuarts were used from the start of the US entering the war till the end.

Although I should say they were superseded in 1944 and slowly died out.

Someone with better tank knowledge can probably expand.

I was a little suprised to see 11 assigned to a tank company in late 44.....In main land europe.[X(]

Yea I don't know about that, but considering they made so many I guess it's not that strange if they scrapped them together

By that point they were superseded though, so in that aspect it is strange. *shrugs*

The tank they were suerseded by was the M24 Chaffee - Two of which actually saw service in the Bulge

Stuart of M5 light tank was used primarily as a recon vehicle in US and Brit Arm Divs and Cav Gps.

I am sorry don't remember the unit. It was either Assualt on the Sauer or the St. Vith scenarios.

British tank battalions (armoured regiments) operated from 1941 on a 'light tank' detachment. Unlike the US case this was not a complete company (usually 'D') but rather three platoons totalling about 12 tanks, with one platoon normally attached to each Sherman/Cromwell/Comet company. In practise these were no longer 'tanks' as the majority of units removed the turrets from the M3 Light - this gave much better visibility. Have not yet checked the British scenarios in BfB to see how they are shown - too involved in the opening attack scenarios!
